Labour Affairs: Union Minister receives Thai Ambassador

Union Minister for Labour Dr Pwint San received Thai Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Mongkol Viststump and party at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the Union Minister said that the meeting will support a lot for solving the difficulties and rights of Myanmar migrant workers, dispatching workers and matters to be implemented by the MoU of the two countries.

The meeting also focused on plan to discuss with Labour Attaches` who are officially appointed by Myanmar government, reducing visa fee for workers who will be sent through MoU, plan to extend the MoU on Labour Corporation and the Agreement on the Employment of Workers, dispatching MoU workers through airways, issuance of renew passports for Myanmar migrant workers who have completed 4 years of the MoU in Thailand, Certificates of Identity (CI) for Myanmar migrant workers who are lack of documents in Thailand and issuing temporary residence and employment permits (pink cards) to undocumented Myanmar workers in Thailand.
