Lethwei Competition: Lethwei Competition Held In Myitkyina Of Kachin State

Myanmar traditional Lethwei competition supervised by the Government of Kachin State and organized by Myanmar Traditional LetHwei Federation (Upper Myanmar) was held in commemorating the International Olympic Day at the indoor stadium of the People’s Sports ground, Myitkyina Township on 21st June.

First, the Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nam, state minister for social affairs U Win Ye Tun and state minister for ethnic affairs U Kyaw Min Khaing and officials concerned opened the competition by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and viewed the competing of five bouts under the supervised by the referees and judges and the state ministers and the chief justice of the state high court presented medals and cash prizes to the athletes of each bout.

The chief minister presented medals and cash prizes to the first prize winner and the runner-up.  In addition to the Lethwei competition, the Lethwei training including the ex-selection boxers is being conducted by Myanmar Traditional Lethwei Federation (Upper Myanmar) from 20th to 23rd June and the Lethwei competition will be held until 23rd June, it’s reported.
