Mekong-Lancang Cooperation: Crop yield assessment and evaluation center opened

An opening ceremony of crop yield analysis and evaluation center was held at Pobba Thiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on 7th November with the attendance of the Union Ministers U Min Naung and U Hla Moe, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area U Than Tun Oo, Mr. Wang Xianzhong, first secretary of Myanmar Embassy in China, Deputy Minister and many other concerned officials.
The center was constructed for the project which has being implemented with Mekong-Lancang cooperation special fund 2022.
The signboard of the center was opened by the Union Ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and first secretary of China Embassy in Myanmar. This was followed by sprinkling scented water to the commemorative plaque in the building by Union Ministers and invited guests.
During the opening remarks, Union Minister U Min Naung said that this project was implemented under the management of the Department of Agriculture Land Management and Statistics. And, He added that in Myanmar, altogether 106 MSME projects have been implementing with Mekong-Lancang cooperation special fund starting from 2017 to 2023 and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation could implement 35 projects among them.
At present, plans are underway to establish a system for collecting crop cultivation list using drone and to conduct crop yield evaluation processes by using Remote Sensing and GIS technology, he added.
After saying words of honour by the first secretary of China Embassy in Myanmar, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation gave memorable gift to the first secretary. Then, the Director General for the Department of Agriculture Land Management and Statistics accepted documents related to the center building.
