Mexico march demands search for 100,000 disappeared

Relatives of some of the more than 100,000 victims of enforced disappearance in Mexico demanded that laws be enforced to enable more searches to be conducted.

On the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance, families once again walked through emblematic avenues of Mexico City with photographs of their loved ones hanging from their chests. The families had repeatedly asked that the search protocols be followed from the initial stages, and for greater coordination between forensic services and police departments. Although the federal government has improved, it does not always have the support of state governments.
