Peace Process: SAC Chairman receives RCSS Chairman

Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander in Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by the Chairman of Restoration Council of Shan State-RCSS General Sao Yawd Serk who contributed in the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) 8th Anniversary Celebration.

The meeting on Monday morning at Bayintnaung villa in Nay Pyi Taw was also attended by the SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo and SAC member Union Minister for Home Affairs, Chairman of National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and senior military officers and concerned officials.

In the meeting, they cordially discussed the necessary measures for the peace and stability of Shan State and the nation. The Senior General said that the Government and Tatmadaw are firmly standing for the NCA as well as continuously walking on the path of the multiparty democratic system. And, the pilot census enumeration has been conducted at the present and the preparations for the 2024 nationwide population and housing census are underway to hold free and fair general election, he added.
