Provisions for cyclone-affected people: Rescue items and provisions sent to Sittway

Pagodas and temples, monasteries, houses, departmental buildings were damaged and collapsed by the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” on the Bay of Bengal.

The roads and streets were block by the fallen trees, the motor roads were inundated, the lamp posts and tower posts were damaged and fallen and the landslides were occurred.

The local residents are accommodating in the cyclone shelters and temporary rescue camps. 500 bags of rice and 425 bags of biscuits donated by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and rescue teams were sent to Sittway via Nay Pyi Taw Airport for the 1st time, 350 bags of rice, 325 bags of biscuits, communication devices, Tatmadaw medical teams and medical supplies were sent for the 2nd time for affected people.

On Monday, 140 bags of biscuits and rice bags were sent by helicopter respectively. Officials accepted the donation at the Sittway Airport and the donated items will be distributed to concerned officials.
