Roads and Bridges: Meeting with Staff and inspecting the work progress

On 5th and 6th April, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant met with the staff from the departments and Special Units under the ministry  in Bago Region. An official reported on the progress of construction works for buildings, roads and bridges and the future plans. The Union Minister gave the necessary instructions.

During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the needs to keep up the pace of work progress development of transportation sector. He added that all the staff need to cooperate with each other to reach the goal. He also urged them to be free from the party politics.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and party inspected the upgrading of Bago-Nyaunglaypin road section on Yangon-Bago-Taungoo-Mandalay Union Highway. He urged officials to make the quality control on the works. On arrival at the Bridge construction site in Thayutpin Township,  the Union Minister heard reports on implementation of the works and instructed to the needs.

The Union Minister and party later inspected the concrete paving work on the new Bago Township Bypass road, paving asphalt concrete on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway (Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw section). They also inspected the condition of the traffic island and the cleanliness on the road sides, durability of the old bridges and the repair works at bridge abutment. 

They then proceeded to Maravijaya Buddha Park, and instructed officials to set road direction sign at the entrance road to the Buddha Park at mile post No. 204/1 on Yangon- Mandalay) Expressway. He also stressed the need to set road safety signs for U Turn and Guard Rail, and landscaping words.
