Rural Development Works: MoCRD Union Minister inspects development works

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, accompanied by concerned officials inspected the township development activities in Pobbathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on Tuesday.

The Union Minister and party oversaw the concrete paving works over Tha Ga La-Thant Zin Hla village to village road implemented by Department of Rural Road Development of Pobbathiri Township.

The departmental official reported on the work completion, saying that upon completion, it will be beneficial for agriculture, livestock breeding and manufacturing industries and the socio-economic life of the rural people.

And, The Union Minister gave instructions for timely completion, meeting the set standards and maintenance works for long-term sustainability of road. After fulfilling the needs reported by the rural residents, the Union Minister inspected the works undertaking.

Next, the Union Minister and party inspected monsoon paddy harvesting at Tha Pyay San Village of Pobbathiri Township. About 118 baskets of GW-11 and about 100 baskets of GW-18 rice varieties were produced per acre, reported by the relevant official.

Then, the Union Minister and party met with the members of the village water supply committee, the village Emerald Green project committee and village elders. The Chairman of the village emerald green project committee reported that the Emerald Green project in Tha Pyay San Village has been implemented with 3 million kyats in the 2023-2024 fiscal year and loan has been granted to a total of 84 cooperative members. 

Regarding the reports, the Union Minister said that the government is providing inputs and technology to the farmers through the cooperative system and urged all farmers to strive to carry out village development activities with the interest received from the project.

Then, the Union Minister and party oversaw the village road paving work and the water meter system and gave necessary instructions to the officials of water supply committee to collect water tax with affordable rate for residents, to carry out the maintenance works for long-term water supply.
