A 3.9-magnitude earthquake hit about 5 miles southeast of Chauk Township on Wednesday, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.

The slight earthquake in Magway Region with a depth of 49 kilometers occurred at about 4:14 a.m. Myanmar Standard Time.
