Thousands of South Korea fans in Seoul braved the cold and snow in the early hours of Tuesday morning to watch their nation's World Cup run end in a 4-1 Round of 16 loss to Brazil. Korean news agency Yonhap reported that a full house of 33,000 fans attended an outdoor watch party in the city centre, despite snow flurries and temperatures that dropped below zero.

But, fans in Seoul were still proud of their side, saying they had not expected South Korea to advance to the knockout stage of the World Cup. The watch parties in Seoul brought together over 30,000 fans for each of South Korea's four matches during the World Cup, the first time mass public gatherings had been allowed in the city since a crowd crush during Halloween celebrations killed more than 150 people.
