More than 200 kids gathered at Yangon United Sports Complex on Sunday to be trained by coaches from English Premier League Club Tottenham Hotspur.

With the aims of promoting healthier, longer and better lives amongst Myanmar children, young aspiring footballers from Myanmar aged 7 to 14 got chances to receive free football training from two coaches from one of the top clubs in the English Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur.

Int’l Development Manager, Tottenham Hotspur, Anton Blackwood said “I think so far is great being here and will get in the feel of it and we know it’s a country that is you know passionate and loves football. So, our biggest thing is trying to support what we can. We never love to go in this and say you have to do this so you have to do that. We know that is a country believes in what it does and if we can support in anyway, they will be happy. To have support the football here, I’m hopefully help the country one day qualify for world cup.”

Trainee, Phone Pyae Thurain said “I’m 10 years old. I would like to play soccer. I would like to change myself. I like soccer a lot because that’s so fun. I can run faster and I can play with my friends.”

At the day-long program, the little footballers took to the training fields enthusiastically, doing drills and exercises conducted by international Tottenham hotspur coaches, supported by local coaches from Yangon United Football Club.
