Working Committee Meeting: Meeting to address the impact of COVID-19 on Nat’l Economy

5th meeting of the Working Committee (5/2021) to address the impact of COVID-19 on the national economy was held in the morning on 16th June at Office No. (1), Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting was chaired by U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations. Member of the working Committee Deputy Ministers, from the Ministry of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population and Ministry of Commerce, Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Myanmar and representatives of the Ministries concerned attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the Chairman of the Working Committee discussed matters on the analytical measures for the effective use of COVID-19 Fund, issues submitted by borrowers who utilized the fund, the processes to be facilitated for the re-operated businesses and the drafting process of Myanmar Economic Recovery Plan (MERP). Moreover, the Chairman discussed issues and difficulties submitted to the Committee and, coordination and cooperation matters among the ministries. The meeting also discussed relief measures carried out by concerned ministries, future plan of actions and issues raised by the business community.
