Agricultural Development : Infrastructure progress in Thayawady District

On January 6th, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win conducted an inspection of agricultural development activities in Thayawady District.

The Chief Minister overviewed paddy cultivation in Gon Min Hmyaung Village-tract, using handy planters. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of incorporating beans into the four-crop rotation and stressed the need for precise scheduling of cultivation and harvesting times. Additionally, he inspected the manufacturing of multi-purpose farm equipment.

The Chief Minister urged collaboration with relevant departments to enhance production efficiency and market penetration. The Chief Minister also inspected the progress of gravel paving along the road to Upper ChaungThoneGwa Village and the cultivation of shady trees along the road sides.

The road construction is funded with over 52 million kyats from the Regional Government's budget allotment. On arrival at Inn Bokone and HtanPinkone Village-tracts in Min Hla Township, the Chief Minister examined the digging of 667 underground tube-wells and 667 hand-pump wells aimed at supplying irrigated water to 2,000 acres of farmland.

The Regional Government allocated a budget of 231 million kyats for the project, and the Chief Minister stressed the importance of ensuring the long-term durability of the infrastructure.
