Bridge commissioning into service: Sittaung River Crossing Bridge in Lewe Township opened

Hailing the 79th Anniversary of Tatmadaw Day, the opening ceremony of Yone Pin-Aye Chan Thar Sittaung River Crossing Bridge in Lewe Township in Union Territory was held along with the presence of the Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, the Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Than Tun Oo, the Deputy Ministers, members of Nay Pyi Taw Council and official concerned.

At the ceremony, the Union Minister U Hla Moe said that the State Government is putting strenuous efforts into the missions of comprehensive development of the State, socio-economic life of the people, narrowing the development gaps between villages, states and regions, implementing the tasks by adopting the development polices for the village roads and bridges comprised of cooperative efforts with the all related individuals. or the good flow of agricultural and livestock products of the local residents all year round, the access of roads and bridges are needed. Today’s newly opened bridge is 840 feet long, 20 feet wide, 1 feet of pedestrian lane on each side of the bridge and it’s a reinforced concrete type bridge where each vehicle weighting up to 36 tons will be able to pass through. Therefore, the users are urged to maintain the village roads and bridges for sustainability following the instructions.

On the other side, the department of road made the initial trial surveying the changes of Sittaung River and build systematically meeting the set standards prioritizing the worksite safety. Upon completion of the bridge, the local residents can use accessing 5 villages in Aye Chan Thar village-tract on the east bank of the river, 4 villages in Sa Nwin Aai village-tract, Nay Pyi Taw, Lewe, Pyinmana and other regions and states at any time, said the Union Minister U Myo Thant.

The Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman continued that the current newly established bridge could directly beneficial to 6727 people of 1505 households from nearby 5 villages in Lewe Township and the locally produced products and goods can be able to deliver to the Township market in a short period of time.

Next, the Union Minister and party made instructions for the concerned officials to try the necessary agriculture processes in order to get the high yielding of crops making the systematic records of the work progress.
