Clarification of the law: MoEA held clarification of PMSL

The Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung attended the clarification of Public Military Service Law held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 25th March.

In his opening remark, the Union Minister explained that the Public Military Service Law in order to safeguard the three our main causes: Non-Disintegration of the Union, Non-Disintegration of the National Solidarity and perpetuation of the sovereignty to learn the military techniques was enacted by the State Peace and Development Council as Law No (27/2010) on 4th November, 2010 without designation of the date of enforcement.

Now, due to requirement to protect the country, its enforcement was announced on 10th February, 2024 with Order no (24/2024). Every citizen need to understand and comply with the provisions in the Public Military Service Law.

The law was promulgated with 8 chapters and 33 sections. The responsibility of every citizen to serve the military duty is described in sections-340, 385 and 386 of the State Constitution (2008).

The Public Military Service Law is not particularly enacted only in Myanmar but other countries on the world also promulgate it and exercise it. Next, the Deputy Minister clarified the procedures and processes of the Public Military Service Law.

Then, the permanent secretary, directors General each clarified the 8 chapters of the law and the Union Minister gave a speech of conclusion.
