Ground Inspection Tour: MoIP Union Minister took ground inspection tour in Dawei

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing in his capacity as the Chairman of the Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration and Chairman of Central Census Commission together with Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U MyatKo in his capacity as the Chairman of Region Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration and Chairman of Region Census Supervising Committee met with the region government members, members of region/district/Township Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration and Region Census Supervising Committee at the meeting hall of Taninthayi Region Government in Dawei Township on 26th January.

At the meeting, the Union minister U MyintKyaing elaborated that the correct voters list is the most important task for holding free and fair multiparty democracy General election which is the paramount important point in five point-roadmap set by the government.

As the population list has to be based for the accurate and correct voters list, the Ground Census Enumeration working groups were formed and collected the list. In Taninthayi Region, over 4.3 million of population list could enumerate and it’s cent per cent of the target.

The Ministry is implementing Pan Khin Project for all eligible citizens to be able to vote by holding a type of card. The Ministry is collecting the Biographic data and Biometric data and storing in e-ID Database and issuing Unique ID included 10 digit numbers and the data over 80,000 citizens have been collected. All are urged to collaborate to complete the task within scheduled time.

Next, the Region Chief Minister U MyatKo clarified the work implementations. Then, the attendees reported tasks carrying out and the requirements and the Union Minister coordinated necessaries and gave a speech of conclusion.

Afterward, the Union Minister oversaw the issuing Citizenship Scrutiny Card with Pan Khin Project (3) to the local residents, collecting Biographic/Biometric data in One Stop Service at Thathana Beikman in Dawei Township, heard the report of the responsible officials, gave necessary instruction and coordinated requirements, inquired the local people about the difficulties regarding with the work and cordially greeted them.

Next, the Union Minister enjoyed the lunch together with region/district/Township head officers and provided cash assistance for the staff canteen.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister held a meeting with the region/district/Township head officers of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, gave necessary instruction and coordinated requirements reported by the personnel.
