MSME Development : Action Plan for One Region One Product

Bago Region Government held a work coordination meeting on Wednesday to draft an Action Plan for One Region One Product. Patron of the Bago Region MSME Development Agency Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win discussed that about 90% of the businesses in the region are MSME businesses based on agriculture and livestock sectors.

In order to develop the MSME businesses in the region, 1.5 billion kyats loan have been disbursed to 183 businessmen, aiming for one region one product. Additionally, the necessary technologies and packaging equipment have been provided, along with the opening of sale centers in Bago and Pyay.

He called for cooperation of all concerned officials for sustainable development of MSME businesses. The attendees reported on work undertakings for MSME development, loan disbursement, boosting production, market penetration and packaging system.

It is learnt that Life House Coffee from Taungoo District received orders from Thailand and European countries, and 1,000 acres of Robusta Coffee will be cultivated in the region during 2024.
