Regional Development Works: Rakhine State CM visits Sittwe Port and Airport

Rakhine Chief Minister U Htein Lin, accompanied by the State Ministers and concerned officials, inspected the unloading of UV-resistant stone slabs at Sittwe multi-purpose port on Sunday morning.

They oversaw the unloading process of stone slabs, using manpower along with mechanical equipment and coordinated the needs. More than 130,000 stone slabs to be used in the LawkaNandar Pagoda square were loaded on the Pyay Taw Aye vessel. Upon the arrival at Sittwe Airport, the Chief Minister and party inspected the repairing tasks of the airport damaged by the cyclone MOCHA.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister warmly greeted the passengers at the terminal and oversaw the flights’ arrival and departure, CCTV installation and safe landing of air buses from airport control tower. The Chief Minister also gave instructions to airport officials to help the passengers for peaceful traveling and to systematically organize the cleaning and greening of entry and exit gates, lounges and airport surroundings.
