Spreading Disinformation: Clarifying fake news in Taze and Kyauk Taw

One of the destructive media outlets, Khit Thit Media is spreading fake news through social media platforms, alleging that residents from Sein Nan Village, Taze Township in Sagaing Region were killed and injured due to Tatmadaw’s airstrike on the village on 4th of January.

The true incident is that the PDF terrorists launched drop bomb attack on Sein Nan Village on that day, leaving innocent local residents death and injuries.  Likewise, misinformation has spread through social media platforms claiming that villages near Maha Muni Buddha Image in Kyauk Taw Tonwnship of Rakhine State were burnt down due to heavy weapon attack and airstrikes by the Tatmadaw.

In response to these claims, a station security officer said that AA insurgents launched heavy weapon attack and shock missile attack to security forces locations and caused explosions in local villages, resulting in the raging of fire to some local houses.

Media outlets supporting these terrorist actions propagated the fabricated news to cover the terror acts of the terrorist groups and insurgents which are harming the lives and properties of the people and to sow discord among the Tatmadaw and the public.
