Bangladesh Celebration: Bangladesh’s 53rd Independence &National Day

53rd anniversary of Independence and National Day of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was held at Lotte Hotel in Yangon on 26th of March.

Present at the occasion were Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U LwinOo, Chairman of the Yangon City Development Committee Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay, diplomats from foreign embassies in Yangon and invited guests.
First, Bangladeshi Ambassador to Myanmar Dr. Md. Monwar Hossain and officials warmly welcomed the dignitaries.

Ambassador, Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar, H.E. Dr. MdMonwar Hossain , said " Today is 26th March, the 53rd anniversary of Bangladesh’s Independence Day. It is a very auspicious occasion for the people of Bangladesh. We’re very proud and happy to be an independent nation. I wish all the people of Bangladesh and the international community best wishes on this occasion."

On the occasion, the National Anthems of two countries: Myanmar and Bangladesh were played. Next, Bangladeshi Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Dr. MdMonwar Hossain extended welcome speech.

On the occasion, the short video clip reflecting the history of Bangladesh for the national independence. After that, the Bangladesh dance troupe entertained the guests with their cultural dance. Honoring the 53rd anniversary Independence and National Day of Bangladesh, the host ambassador together with the Yangon Region chief minister, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Yangon Mayor cut the ceremonialcake.

Ambassador , Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar, H.E. Dr. MdMonwar Hossain , said " Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is our father of the Nation. He is greatest Bengali of all time. He is the architect of Independence. We are guided by his famous foreign policy dictum “The Friendship to all, Malice Towards None”. So Bangladesh undertakes his foreign policy following his dictum and we make sure that we have peaceful cooperation with all the countries in the world including our neighbors: India, and Myanmar."

Reflecting the remarkable achievements, the people of Bangladesh celebrate this momentous occasion annually, commemorating the sacrifices of the millions of martyrs who struggled for the national independence.
