Chinlone Competition: Region/State Traditional Chinlone Competition Till February 28

Region and State Traditional Chinlone Competition is being held at Aung San Stadium in Yangon from the 25th to the 28th of this month.

This is the 42nd Chinlone competition organized by Sports and Physical Department with the support of Myanmar Traditional Chinlone Federation. 11 men teams and 5 women teams from 11 regions and states are participating in the competition.

Vice Chairman, Myanmar Traditional Chinlone Federation, Than Maung said “Due to the age limit of under 25, some regions and states are not able to participate in this event. To address this matter, the Myanmar Chinlone Federation will submit proposal to the Ministry of Health and Sports to be all inclusive of over 25.”

Founded in 2019, Myanmar Traditional Chinlone Federation is going to promote for the improvement of Chinlone locally, and Myanmar Chinlone Federation takes the responsibility to support Chinlone sport internationally. The referees and judges from regions and states are also given trainings by the sports department.

Player, Mandalay Region Team, Thae Su win said “For this competition, we got camp training given by outstanding referees – we practiced for over a week, and we are fit and active to compete in this competition. The team has many experiences and won many first prizes. We’d play against Magwe Region team and we are confident to win!”

Player, Mandalay Region Team, Ye Min Khant said “Chinlone sport is my passion. Magwe Region Team is a good team and they are so competitive. Our team won many prizes and this is the third time we are competing in Yangon. We hope for the best this time too.”

The first prize worth of 300,000 kyats, 200,000 kyats for the second prize and 100,000 kyats for the third prize will be awarded. The best outstanding player award will also be given with the prize of 100,000 kyats both for men and women players.
