Myanmar Health Sciences Conference: PM addresses at the opening ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw

Myanmar Health Sciences Conference (2023) commenced at Myanmar International Convention Center -II in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday, with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Firstly, the commemorative arch for the conference was formally opened by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win and officials. The Prime Minister later pressed the button to open the commemorative arch.

In the subsequent ceremony, the Prime Minister made an opening speech, saying that the State Administration Council is encouraging for promoting the health standard of the entire national people.

Under the guidance of the government and with the strength of health experts and retired personnel from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Defence and volunteer organizations as well as the assistance by the partner countries and cooperation of entire people, the COVID-19 global pandemic has been controlled and responded successfully to some extent.

By taking lesson to this success, other health problems could be overcome successfully with the collective strength of all people. He continued that in implementing for development of health sector, it is needed to carry out for emergence of universal health coverage system in public health care services.

For effective implementation of the disease prevention tasks and providing quality health treatment, the policies and work plans have been drafted depending on the resources in the country. He stressed that for successfully implementation of the objectives and road-map of the State Administration Council, it needs a lot of human resources who are physically healthy.

He urged all the new generation physicians and health staff to make effective study at the conference since it was the platform to share new ideas and experience of disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation works. He called for cooperative efforts of all concerned persons for promoting the health standard of Myanmar by making thorough study on the experiences, knowledge and new technologies gained from the conference.

It was followed by screening of documentary video clip. The theme of Myanmar Health Sciences Conference is “Quality Care in Medical Practice”.

The conference aims to promote friendly relations among the health experts from Nay Pyi Taw, Regions and States, to develop diagnosis through collaboration and coordination, to understand the developing modern medical subjects, to nurture the eagerness to learn the developing trend of medical subjects and to support in providing quality health care service to the public.

There are displays of booths on various societies for development of medical subject, medical equipment and medicines, health educative programs, modern teaching aids, books and periodicals as well as the documentary photos on the activities of the respective departments and international cooperation events.
