In Nay Pyi Taw on Friday, a launching ceremony for the Myanmar Rice Online (MyRO) website was held in collaboration between the Ministry of Commerce and the Myanmar Rice Federation. The ceremony was organized alongside an explanation of the registration process for rice storage warehouses on the MyRO platform.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance, U Win Shein, who delivered a speech. In his opening remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the launch ceremony and registration process explanation were pivotal for the development of the rice sector.
Furthermore, these initiatives aimed to establish a crop insurance system for rice growers, a concept initiated during the Rice Conference in 2022. The MyRO website will facilitate the registration of rice storage warehouses, rice mills, and import licenses through a digital platform system.
The government is currently focused on ensuring political stability and creating a conducive environment for increased investments. The Deputy Prime Minister called for harmonious cooperation between the government and the private sector to drive the nation's economic development.
Union Minister for Commerce, U Tun Ohn, elaborated on the purpose of MyRO, highlighting its convenience for all stakeholders in the rice sector, including growers, traders, rice millers, exporters, experts, researchers, and consumers. MyRO offers a one-stop service for all the necessary processes. He encouraged all relevant government departments, organizations, and entrepreneurs to collaborate in these efforts.
