Oil and Natural Gas: MOE Union Minister MaUBin Oil Field

Union Minister for Energy U Myo Myint Oo, together with Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and officials, visited MaUBin Oil and Natural Gas Field on Saturday.

Officials reported on work undertakings, test drilling of No.20 well, estimated volumns of natural gas and condensate that could be generated from natural gas deposited sand ridge, and generating of natural and condensate from No.9 well.

They also reported on repairing of Kangyidaunt-Thapaung section of Nyaungdon-Thapaung natural gas pipeline, prospect of extracting oil and natural gas at MaUBin Oil Field and project plan at Phayakone area.

The Chief Minister elaborated on the reports and coordinated the needs. The Union Minister also discussed for fulfilling the demand of natural gas to resume the operation of Thapaung Paper Mill and timely completion of the maintenance work for the gas pipeline.

The Union Minister and party later inspected the test firing of natural gas extracted from No.20 well. Nyaungdon-MaUBin Oil and Natural Gas field produces about 50 barrels of condensate and 22 million cubic feet natural gas daily from 17 production wells.

The extracted natural gas has been distributed to the fertilizer factories, LNG factories and CNG filling stations. Moreover, arrangements have been made for distribution of natural gas to Thapaung Paper Mill for resuming operation.
