Paper Reading Session: 555th Birthday Anniversary of Literati Shin Maha Rahtasara

A paper reading session was held in commemoration of the 555th birthday anniversary of Literati Shin Maha Rahtasara at the Myanmar International Convention Center-2 (MICC-2) in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

The event was attended by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, who participated in viewing the displays of documentary records and photos of Shin Maha Rahtasara, his literary works and treatises, his rival literati, and articles written in his honor.

At the opening ceremony of the paper reading session, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin explained the purpose of the event. This was followed by an entertainment program featuring artists from the Fine Art Department of the Ministry.

The paper reading session commenced with the reading of four various topics relating to Shin Maha Rahtasara. Subsequently, an entertainment program followed, and commemorative awards were presented to scholars and resource persons for their contributions to the paper reading session. In honor of the life history of Shin Maha Rahtasara, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture staged a musical drama titled "Kyayzu Thitsar Pan Alinkar."

Throughout the history of Myanmar literature, numerous literati have emerged as exemplars for society, and their literary works continue to be cherished. Among them are members of the Sangha, and Shin Maha Rahtasara stands out as a prominent literati who emerged during the Innwa Era, with his literary contributions holding great value in Myanmar literature.
