Peace Process: NSPNC meets with EAOs and Political Parties

National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Coordination Committee met with the 7 NCA Signatories Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. Committee Chairman Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung gave an opening speech, explaining the matters to end armed conflicts and implementation of 6-point peace policy by the Tatmadaw for lasting peace.

On behalf of the EAOs, Chairperson of Arakan Liberation Party Saw Mra Yaza Lin extended greetings, focusing on constant emergence of peace process, building a union based on democracy and federal system and reformation of PPST.

The meeting discussed the humanitarian assistance and plans to provide assistance for Myanmar peace process. The meeting ended with closing remarks by the Union Minister and the ALP Chairperson.

In the afternoon, the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Coordination Committee met with the representatives from 43 registered political parties and discussed matters on amendment of the constitution, formation of political parties group and working group, meeting with the EAOs and implementation of NCA in line with the 3 strategies.
