Tazaungdaing Festival: Colorful Decorative Lights Displayed For Public Recreation

The 2-day Yangon Region Tazaungdaing Festival, which held at Maha Bandula Park in front of the Yangon City Hall was concluded along with massive visitors on the full-moon day of Tazaungmone, Monday.

Organized by the Yangon Region Government and private sector, the festival of lights included numerous activities for the public recreation such as displaying of colorful decorative lights, giving charity feasts or Satuditha as well as stage performances.

A visitor who came from the United States shared his feeling of the very first time experience on Tazaungdaing festival in Myanmar.

Visitor, Eli Boardmanvh said “I think, originally the festival is for celebrating like end of rainy season. So, I can tell like everybody is good high spirits. And I feel the same way, I don’t know what to expect when I came to Myanmar for the first time, especially tonight seeing everybody enjoying themselves and makes me feel the same way. So, very happy.”

At the festival, thousands of visitors and family members celebrated freely and spent their holidays. Among them, one of the locals said her satisfaction on this public relaxation area organized by the officials.

Visitor, Soe Sandar said “I came here with my family and I see the lightings are very fantastic. I took photos with colorful decorative lights. Now, I’m still looking around and visit here. Sure, I’m really happy and thanks for the arrangement of this festival for our public recreation.”

Myanmar people celebrate religious activities and festivals on the full moon days as the tradition.
