Census Collection in Mon State: Preparation for 2024 Nationwide Population and Housing Census

Chairman of the Central Supervisory Committee for Ground Census Enumeration, Chairman of the Central Census Commission and Union Minister for Immigration and Population, U Myint Kyaing, met with the Chairman and members of the Mon State Supervisory Committee for Ground Census Enumeration in Mawlamyine on December 1st.

In his address, the Union Minister said Mon State had achieved a cent percent census collection for over 5.8 million population within the designated time frame. He highlighted the ongoing process of amending and approving data in the e-ID Server, urging all involved to work towards completing the tasks within the targeted time.

Furthermore, the Union Minister added that the ministry is implementing the Pan Khin Project, aimed at issuing citizenship identity cards to eligible voters to ensure their rights to cast votes. He called for collaboration among all departmental personnel to ensure the success of this project.

Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein and officials provided reports on the implementation of ground census enumeration, the Pan Khin Project, accuracy processes for the voter list, and collaborative efforts for collecting the Nationwide Population and Housing Census.

The Union Minister coordinated the needs and gave concluding remarks. In the evening, the Union Minister met with staff from state, district, and township-level offices to discuss preparations for the success of the 2024 Nationwide Population and Housing Census.
