Broadcasting Governing Body: Meeting (1/2024) of BGB held in Nay Pyi Taw

The meeting (1/2024) of Broadcasting Governing Body-BGB was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 29th January.  

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint, permanent secretary U Myo Myint Maung, officials concerned in person and the responsible officials from Myawaddy TV, the broadcasting companies joint-ventured with MRTV via online.

First, the Chairman of Broadcasting Governing Body-BGB Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, said that TV channels and FM radios working in connection with the Ministry of Information should be careful for no errors and no weakness in broadcasting, the programs with the contents of disseminating knowledge and education should be included in the broadcasting, the fees for rentals of Bandwidth, equipment and tax should be paid within current fiscal year and the special attention should be taken to ensure that there are no broadcasts that will harm the country's culture.

Next, the Vice Chairman of BGB Permanent Secretary U MyoMyintMaung explained the responsibilities of the supervisory board, cooperation in accordance with existing laws. After that, the Director General U Ye Naing of MRTV clarified the issues related to cooperation with joint venture companies and read out the completion of the implementation of the decisions of the previous BGB meeting No. (3/2023).

Next, the Industrial Division, Administrative Division, Finance Division, joint-ventured broadcasting companies and invited companies reported the issues implementing in accordance with the guidelines of the Broadcasting Governing Body-BGB and the matters to pay the tax within the current fiscal year. Then, the Chairman of BGB Deputy Minister supplemented in discussion and gave a speech of conclusion.
