Established in 1924, Bagan’s Lacquerware College celebrated its centennial anniversary this year with a commemoration ceremony held at the college on Sunday. The event was attended by Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, U MyintSoe.

The Lacquerware College was founded with the aims of preserving and promoting the Myanmar lacquerware industry, disseminating modern techniques of lacquer making without compromising traditional styles, nurturing constant growth in lacquerware expertise, enhancing lacquerware teaching subjects, and fostering economically skilled lacquerware professionals.

During the ceremony, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of preserving Myanmar's traditional lacquerware and urged the Principal, teachers, and all attendees to strive for global recognition of these exquisite creations in international markets.
