International Customs Day: Commemorative event takes place in Yangon

The International Customs Day was observed in Yangon on Friday with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein.

In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the needs to make efforts for smooth flow of commodity and eradication of illegal trade. He also stressed to make constant learning for capacity building of each individual in the organization. Myanmar becomes a member of World Customs Organization in 1991, and since then, the commemoration event for the International Customs Day has been held annually.

The theme for this year day is “Customs-Engaging Traditional and New Partners with Purpose”.
