National Export Strategy: National Export Promotion Committee held a meeting

National Export Strategy Government-Private Export Promotion Committee held a meeting (1/2024) at the meeting hall-2 of the Ministry of Commerce at 2 PM on 27th February and was attended and gave a remark by the Chairman of National Export Strategy Government-Private Export Promotion Committee Union Minister for the Ministry of Union Government Office (2) U Aung Naing Oo.In his remark, the Union Minister said that the National Export Strategy was drafted since 2013 and selected five sectors to implement during the five years period from 2015-2019.

As the second phase, it’s implementing to select 18 sectors and to be implemented for the period of 2020-2025. For the process to be carried out, the detail work plans as per the sector and the master plan have been drawn and the Economic Affairs Committee and meeting of the Union Government have given approval.

For the strategic implementation, Government-Private Trade Promotion Council and Government-Private Export Promotion Committee have been formed on 21st February.In the implementation of works as per the sector, it’s needed to prioritize the industries which can show the outcome in a short time based on the economic objectives set by the State Administration Council and the organizations to carry out the works as per the sector are to closely cooperate with the relevant departments.

Next, the Vice Chair of the Committee Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn conducted discussion and gave necessary suggestions. Then, the Joint-Secretary-1of the committee Director General of Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization Daw Nawmutakapaw  clarified the formation and implementation of National Export Strategy and the implementation as per the sector.

Next, the committee members and the chairmen of Export Development Committee clarified the process to be implemented and the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Export Promotion committee supplemented and gave necessary instruction.
