Silver Jubilee: 25th anniversary celebration of MCF

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing addressed the opening ceremony to mark the 25th Silver Jubilee of Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF) and its affiliated associations held at the MICC-II in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

The ceremony was inaugurated by cutting the ceremonial ribbon by the Senior General together with the Joint Secretary of the State Administration Council Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Chairman of the Myanmar Computer Science Development Council,Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya TunOo,Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw and Chairman of the Myanmar Computer Federation U Min Zeya Hlaing.

Afterwards, the Senior General and attendees at the ceremony toured the booths showcasing computer technology. The 2nd session of the ceremony continued at the plenary hall, where Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inaugurated the ceremony, using digital technology and delivered a speech.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General expressed his belief that it will be compatible with the digital transformation process currently being implemented by the government and will be able to greatly contribute to the process as the ceremony was held under the theme "Towards Digital Myanmar".

He called on exerted efforts for Myanmar to keep abreast with international community and establish digital socio-economic life. He stressed that communication networks have been run throughout Myanmar, enabling to widely use digital technology anywhere in the country, including rural areas.

The Senior General highlighted the awareness about the digital stream which is not only the place to store valuable information but also a spam for inaccurate and uncertain information. He urged MCF to make cooperative efforts with the relevant organizations to constantly monitor the IT security of the people and to focus on the process of providing public information, reviewing, preparing and issuing the necessary laws.

Then, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister General Mya TunOo delivered a speech. Then, Chairman of MCF U Min Zeya Hlaing reported on works undertaking of federation regarding the current developments in the ICT sector.

The Senior General and attendees later enjoyed the video clip featuring 25-year journey of the MCF and its affiliated associations. Then, Deputy Prime Minister and the Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo presented awards to the winners at local and foreign ICT competitions.
